Deploying Long Term Support Releases of Jubilant

Introduction

Jubilant Long Term Support (LTS) allows organisations to deploy a stable release with an extended maintenance and support lifecycle.

LTS releases are supported for 1.5 years, with only minor point updates covering security and bug fixes. No new features are added.

Release Schedule

Flynet releases LTS builds around July. Organisations should look to deploy in August / early September after a period of internal testing.

Updates

Minor point updates are released for security and bug fixes only. New no new features are added to the release.

Microsoft, many of our library partners and our own coding team release security and bug fixes for various technologies used in Jubilant. Flynet assess each of these updates to see if they are a risk or of benefit to LTS users.

This assessment helps Flynet optimise LTS minor updates. The release notes inform organisations if they need to update based on the features they use.

Lifecycle

Flynet expects organisations who deploy LTS builds to enjoy a stable and the simple maintenance of Jubilant.

No new features, no changes to user interface, no changes to settings and configuration (unless required to support a security of bug fix).

Updates are as simple as running update in the installer tool.

However, security is very important for all organisations. It is expected that organisations will need to at least apply some minor point updates for security during the lifetime of the LTS.
